On Tuesday night the 70+ foot Linden tree that stood in my backyard fell to the ground. My best guess is that a combination of age, some decay, the dry conditions that weakened the roots and then the heavy rains caused it to fall.Here are a couple of pictures taken 24 hours apart - one with the tree down and the other with it gone. In just one hour, four men hauled away what had taken 50 plus years to grow. It is amazing how it can be here one day and gone the next.
